Landlocked 8 Live Auction
GRAB A PADDLE & GET IN ON THE ACTION!
We’ve got three once-in-a-lifetime experiences lined up for our live auction at Landlocked this year. Your generous bids keep the Oyster South mission going strong, so don’t hold back! Here’s your chance to spend time with some of the movers and shakers in our community, up close and personal on their local stomping grounds.
EXPERIENCE NO. 1: Forgotten Coast with Kimball House & Shiny Dimes
THE DETAILS:
This experience is for up to 8 people
Offered by: Kimball House and Shiny Dimes Oyster Farm
Location: Florida panhandle (Spring Creek)
What it includes: 3 nights lodging in a coastal homestay; 2 days of touring and freewheeling feasts + time to explore on your own
Package value: $5,000
Bidding starts at $3,000
Your Itinerary:
Day 1
You’ll make your way to the rural fishing paradise of Spring Creek, Florida, where the Kimball House and Shiny Dimes team will meet you with refreshments and a skiff full of fuel, ready to give you a happy-hour introduction to the beauty of Florida’s Forgotten Coast
Dinner at Our Place, Part 1: After happy hour, you’ll settle into your temporary home in the Summer Camp neighborhood of St. Teresa, just feet from the beach. Unpack your bags and walk across the sandy path to our house for dinner, where you’ll enjoy Miles Macquarrie’s award-winning cocktails and a home-cooked feast, Kimball-style
Day 2
In the morning, we’ll venture back to Spring Creek for a full tour on the water. You’ll learn more (or less!) about the Shiny Dimes oyster farm, including why we do what we do. We’ll head over to our lease and harvest some oysters for dinner (and see if there’s anything in the crab trap, of course)
We’ll have lunch at Hutton’s (because it’s not every day that you get to enjoy a softshell sammy under a pole barn)
You’ll be free to spend the afternoon by the beach, by the pool or taking a much-deserved nap
Dinner at Our Place, Part 2: A full-blown seafood meltdown with the oysters you harvested and whatever bounty we can procure from our favorite local fish markets. There will be plenty of non-shellfish seafood if your group has any shellfish allergies, plus cocktails, wine, and beer galore
After dinner, we’ll partake in a beach fire until we run out of wood
Day 3
The Kimball House & Shiny Dimes crew will clear out in the morning, but we’ll leave you with some goodies and plenty of ideas for the remainder of the day. You’re only 40 minutes from St. George and Apalachicola, and we encourage you to hop in your car and explore
You’ll have a final night to yourself at the homestay. Enjoy the peace!
Package does not include airfare or ground transportation.
